The children who are available for adoption from Mexico have either been orphaned or abandoned by their parents (usually due to crushing poverty). In 2003, Americans adopted 61 children from Mexico.

Many orphans in Mexico have been found by the police living abandoned like human refuse. Still others make their way from families who can no longer care for them. Since there is no "public assistance" in Mexico , struggling single mothers end up abandoning their children to an orphanage home out of necessity. Although it is terribly sad, it is done as an act of love.

Most of the orphanages in Mexico are ran by christian organizations. They are adequately funded through donations, and the children are offered education, vocational training and a way to integrate into society as they come of age.

These children are taught Biblical scriptures, instilled with self-esteem, and show love and patience. Some of the orphanages offer foreign language classes and regualarly have volunteers traveling from Europe, Canada and the U.S. These children have a rather broad environment compared to the average orphan.

In 2003, U.S. citizens adopted approximately 61 children from Mexico . Children available for adoption include boys and girls, ages 4 months and older, sibling groups, and children with special needs. These children reside in orphanages.

Travel required:
Yes, one trip of approximately one to three weeks; both parents (if married) must travel.
